Founded in 1965 in Jerusalem, the Israel Museum is the nation’s largest cultural institution. With nearly 500,000 objects, the Museum is home to an encyclopedic collection of works from around the world ranging from prehistory to the present day in everything from sculpture to fine art, Hebrew manuscripts to photography, and beyond. The Museum also features the world’s most extensive collection of Holy Land archaeology including the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest biblical manuscripts in existence.
